Driveway Cleaning in Somerset & Dorset
Block paving, concrete and imprinted drives washed back to their original colour, then re-sanded and sealed on request so the weeds and moss take far longer to come back.
The whole drive, not just the middle.
Most of the difference on a driveway comes from the finishing, not the washing. Anyone can run a lance down the centre. Getting the edges clean, the joints refilled and the colour even is what makes it look laid rather than washed.
We clean with a rotary surface cleaner rather than a bare lance, so the pressure stays even across the full width and you do not end up with zebra striping down the middle of the drive. Edges, borders and the awkward corners around drains and steps are then detailed by hand.
Weeds and moss come out of the joints properly rather than getting flattened, and on block paving we sweep kiln-dried sand back in afterwards to lock the blocks together again. Sealing is optional — it slows regrowth and makes the next clean far easier, and we will give you an honest answer on whether your surface is worth sealing at all.
Three steps, no surprises.

We clean it
Usually a day. Drains protected, silt cleared away and the drive left ready to walk on.
Questions, answered straight.
Will cleaning loosen my block paving?
Washing removes the jointing sand, which is why re-sanding afterwards matters. Skip it and the blocks work loose and weeds return quickly. We sweep kiln-dried sand back in as standard on block paving.
Why do some drives end up with stripes?
Stripes come from cleaning with a bare lance and overlapping badly. We use a rotary surface cleaner so the pressure is even across the whole width, then detail the edges by hand.
Is sealing worth the money?
On block paving and imprinted concrete, usually yes — it slows moss and weed regrowth, resists oil staining and makes the next clean much easier. On plain concrete it matters less. We will tell you honestly either way.
Can you get oil stains out?
Often, but not always. Fresh oil usually lifts with a degreaser. Old oil that has soaked deep into concrete may lighten rather than disappear — we will tell you what to expect before starting.
How long until it dries?
Walkable almost immediately. If we are sealing, the drive needs to be dry first, so sealing is normally a separate visit.
